A metal print is a photo sealed into the coating of an aluminium panel. The dyes are heated until they turn to gas, bond with the coating, then cool in place. The result is a bright, sharp image with deep contrast that’s waterproof and doesn’t need glass or a frame.

How dye-sublimation works

Press with heatA heat press at around 200°C (400°F) turns the dyes into a gas that bonds with the panel’s coating.

Wipe it with a soft microfibre cloth, either dry or lightly dampened with water. For fingerprints, add a drop of mild dish soap to the water. Skip paper towels, scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners. The sealed surface doesn’t absorb anything, so dust and smudges come off easily.
